The Birds of Red Beard

12 May

It’s been nearly two years since last posting, although I have made changes to the site during the interim. Maintaining four jobs has held me back. But, I do hope to return with fervor.

This tempera-on-paper play portrait of Brett Miller was created in 2014 while working in a former art room at The Arc San Francisco. Brett is a long-term fellow instructor and an inspiration. He remembers its creation, I do not. He shared the photograph with me recently saying he had finally gotten it framed and on a wall. Birds in flight are dreams in motion, emerging from Brett’s beard as they do. For more instances of work from my past, see the page Hayes Valley Art and Garden Walk.
