Where I’d Like To Be Right Now

Christine joins Phreethinkers – guitarist/vocalist Larrie Noble Sr. and percussionist Wade Peterson – lending her sweet voice on Thursdays at Belle Cora in North Beach. Other musicians join in from time to time. Phreethinkers blends Jazz, R&B, and Gospel, “keeping classics alive from the 1930s to today.” They play in the parklet and we dance to their music along the sidewalk. Wade is the glue in this arrangement. When Phreethinkers is not available on a Thursday, Rashida Oji and Just Now play much original music, with Rashida vocalizing the lyrics of her songs and playing guitar, ukulele, and percussion, Lillie Robinson playing bass guitar, and Wade playing percussion. They all keep me sane, much as the garden does when I retreat to it on Sundays to tend to its needs. Live music and dance, gardens, beaches. These are places I’d like to be at right now.
