Water

As I prepare stencil designs for a group exhibition taking place early spring in Paris, I think back to a passage in Irena Salinas’s documentary film, Flow — For the Love of Water (2008), in which poverty-stricken residents of Johannesburg are forced to pay for water from spigots regulated by Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, a Paris-based conglomerate (for a review of the film, see: http://documentaries.about.com/od/revie2/fr/flow.htm; accessed 1/6/12).
